Red Raspberry Leaves:
All Rubus species, but most especially the wild ones, provide leaves which contain an effective uterine tonic and a large amount of calcium. Raspberry leaf is my third choice as an herbal fertility promoter. It is most effective when combined with Red Clover.
Dong Quai Root:
Angelica sinensis (Dong Quai) is invaluable in normalizing menstrual periods. It is widely and highly regarded as a fertility promoter. Best results are obtained when Dong Quai preparations are taken during the days between ovulation and menstruation and discontinued from the beginning of the menstrual flow to ovulation.
Wild Yam:
Wild Yam root used in its natural state as a whole herb cannot be biologically converted to hormones in the body. Wild Yam does not contain estrogen or progesterone like many believe. Wild Yam has a wonderful action on smooth muscle tissue, reducing muscle spasm of the uterus, fallopian tubes and ovaries, aiding in painful menstruation (dysmennorhea) and chronic pelvic pain. Wild Yam helps the uterus to work more efficiently during menstruation. This uterine support allows for proper function of the uterus while working to prevent uterine cramping or spasm. This herb has a wonderful action on the ovaries, toning them and aiding in ovarian cyst pain.
Nettle (Urtica dioica) is a uterine tonic and general nourishing herb with a special ability to strengthen the kidneys and adrenal glands. Its high mineral and chlorophyll content makes it an excellent aid to the hormonal system.
(vitex agnus-castus) Chaste tree berries are used as an herbal treatment for infertility associated with mild corpus luteum insufficiency. Chaste tree berry has been shown to help balance the progesterone and estrogen levels.
Mints are safe and pleasant tasting sexual stimulants.
